Why do people hate matthew fox

Even so, though, the combination of these tabloid-frenzied incidents certainly didn't help to elevate his public profile. A lot of actors have trouble shedding their skins with characters that have reached a certain level of iconography.

And since Fox has not one but two character counterparts that have reached ultra memorable status, it may be doubly difficult for him to branch out successfully into other personas.

For some, he'll always be Charlie Salinger; for other, he's Jack Shepherd eternal. That might explain why he's dealt with so many duds on the movie front and why networks might be reticent to cast him in another leading role for fear of redundancy. A controversial show ending can kill a career. Lost 's finale was perhaps the worst show ending of all time.

It's not Fox's fault that the series ended on such a confusing and frustrating note, but as the face of the series, there's a chance the blame could've fallen on him a little, too, where ticket-buyers are concerned. With audiences as upset as they were about the sci-fi series' crazy conclusion, there's a very real chance that some Fox fatigue set in as part of the fallout. Even before things started to slow down for Fox's professional life, he'd already been considering stepping away from the spotlight for a while.

Instead of living in Los Angeles like so many others of his ilk, he lives in Oregon and likes to fly planes and hang out with his family. He told Men's Journal in that he was considering retiring from the industry even then, saying that if he didn't "get quality opportunities" he'd probably step away from the scene.

His hands move to his mouth; he crosses his legs away from me. Classic defensive manoeuvres. I've never worn it too well. I've always done my absolute best to be appreciative but I feel any attention I get is displaced. I want it not to be there. Occasionally he has seemed on the verge of imploding. In , he was accused of punching a female bus driver; prosecutors dropped the charges, and Fox went on the US chat show Ellen to explain that his alleged victim had sought to make capital out of witnessing a fight between him and another man.

On the same show, he was contrite about a recent drink-driving conviction. Perhaps it's no coincidence that these incidents happened after he emerged from the cocoon of Lost , which seems to have induced in him a slight case of cabin fever. He is eloquent on the subject of the show's appeal. But just as all the internet was catching on, you had Lost, which fed on the exact opposite part of human nature: the side that wants desperately for there to be an incredible, unknowable mystery in our lives and our souls.

Everyone gravitated toward this show where no one knew what the fuck was going on. You couldn't Google the answer. In no time at all, though, he has circled back to the cloud dangling off that silver lining. Then I'm, like: 'No, man. Just stay focused on that. That's where it's at. It's not about me. He was a really genuine and nice guy. He can also act circles around Matt Damon.

And I agree that this article is totally biased. If you want to paint a negative picture of someone, you can cherry-pick a bunch of quotes out of context, as this lazy blogger has done. You can do that with any celebrity. He has quite a sense of humor about himself and his work. I think Fox is a good actor and has the ability to play character parts in film which are usually far more interesting than most leading man parts in my opinion.
