I don't think that jealousy is justified. Understandable, yes, but not really justified. Besides, she didn't get the baby. But what if she was infertal, or couldn't have a baby for one reason or another. They didn't have the technology in the 30s that they do now, so if she couldn't have conceived, then she would have had no options as a human. And, if she had stayed a human, she would have married the jerk, and never have had Emmett.
