Why pediatrics residency
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Research Experiences. Frequently Asked Questions. Program Vision To train outstanding pediatricians, recognized by peers as exceptional in their field.
Program Mission Partner with passionate educational leaders across our institution and community to create a pathway for each pediatric resident to maximize their potential.
Core values Transparency, consistency, and dedication to the profession. Pediatrics is the specialty primarily concerned with the physical, emotional and social health of children from birth to young adulthood.
The field encompasses preventive health as well as diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic diseases. These are minimum requirements. It opened early , and with it we grew the size of our faculty, increased our clinical volume, improved access to our resources, and engaged the community and the state. About half of our graduates go on to primary care pediatrics, and about half match into choice fellowships across the country.
Check out some of the resident profiles here to meet the people you'll get to work with. We encourage you to review our website to get to know the people and opportunities that make our program great.
With such a strong academic foundation, our residents are uniquely positioned to pursue various educational, clinical, academic, and research endeavors during their residency training and beyond.
A growing number of fellowship training programs further provides a wide breadth of additional training and career opportunities. When considering these features jointly, our residency program affords a genuinely unique, diverse, and individualized experience that promotes a robust and educational training environment, thereby creating highly successful physicians in all areas of pediatrics.
