It would have been nice to know that before I bought it because it really does make a difference in the amount of things i can fit in.

Other than that it is an excellent dishwasher though. We replaced a very old dishwasher with this bosch mid level washer. We chose this model for a number of reasons, not necessarily in this order 1- energy efficiency 2- No exposed heating element 3- price No heating element was important to us because we have a child, and as a reult have alot of plastic cups to wash daily.

The lack of a heating element allows us to use both the top and bottom racks to wash plastic items. The downside is that there is no active drying feature, so you are more susceptible to spots and streaks on your dishes.

There is a feature to turn on an extended drying time which is condensation drying. This features uses the residual heat from the rinsing to dry the dishes and drain the water. I use Electrasol tablets with a Jet dry tablet included, and the non plastice items seem to dry well enough without the additional drying agent.

BUT the plastic items do tend to have spots. This may be partly due to the fact that our water is on the hard side, but I think it is worth noting. Also, the lack of active drying leaves water in areas where water pools such as concaved mug or bowl bottoms and tupperware lids. Other features:The top rack can be adjusted to 2 levels, high and low to accommodate either taller glasses on the top or larger items on the bottom.

This is done by removing and replacing teh top rack onto one of 2 sets of tracks. There are fold down supports along one side of the top rack that can be used to support stemware or as an added shelf for small items. This model also comes with 3 clips used to hold small items. There is a manual filter for food mits and larger debris which does not fit through. There is no built in disposal. This model also does not have a fully stainless steel tub, it is a combination of composite and stainless.

Overall I think this dishwasher does a good job cleaning, and I'm fine with the spots on the plastic and can dry the small pools. We have had our Bosch dishwasher for over a month now and I absolutley love it! It gets my dishes super clean, the sparkle like they never had before. I love that it has a sanitise cycle so that I can wash baby bottles in it and not have to worry about sterilizing them.

You also can fit alot in this machine, you can even fit tall items and pots on the top rack. I love that it has a top rack only wash feature, so if I don't have a full load I can just put everything on the top rack and hit a button and save water and energy instead of running an entire cycle.

One of the biggest reasons I love this machine is because of how quiet it is. It is so quiet you can't even hear it running! The first time we ran it I had to open it just to make sure it was actually running. Another thing I like about this machine is that it has a stainless steel interior and the racks are teflon coated stainless steel, it looks like it will last a long time.
