They eat figs without the skin in Greece. I was a complete weirdo there when started eating the whole thing Like imagine you were eating a banana in skin! That's kinda what I thought when I saw people peeling figs.
Such weirdos!! My parents Italian always peel figs. I don't. The second best time is now. Figs are eaten with the skins, cucuzzas are peeled I've never peeled a fig. Well maybe once. I think those figs that need peeling aren't ripe. Latex, yuk. Only when the skin feels like sand paper.. Otherwise, quite a bit of the flavor is near the skin.
